Elizabeth Balay, Communications Specialist
Volunteer Communications Specialist Elizabeth Balay joined GTCYS in January, 2008. Elizabethearned her accelerated BA in American Studies in 1984 from YaleUniversity, concentrating in film and art history. Her early professional career included stints in advertising and marketing at Bergdorf Goodman and at Polo Ralph Lauren for Boys in New York City. Elizabethhas worked as a volunteer music librarian and communications consultant for Episcopal churches in Boston, Edina, and Geneva, Switzerland. An active singer, Elizabeth is an alto in the Cathedral Choir at St. Mark’s in Minneapolisand performs with the Minnesota Chorale, on whose board of directors she serves. She lives in Edinawith her husband Michael, sons Nick and Kit, and their black cat, Teddy Steinway.
