2008 Summer Orchestra Program

Applications are now being accepted for GTCYS’ 2008 Summer Orchestra program. GTCYS offers an exciting opportunity for young people to continue playing in a full symphony orchestra when school is out. Enrollment is open to beginning and advanced string, woodwind, brass and percussion students who will be in any grade during the 2008 - 09 school year. Designed to be both fun and challenging, the two orchestras, Summer Symphony (for more advanced players) and Summer Philharmonic (for developing students), will be co-conducted by Artistic Director Amir Kats and staff conductor Sarah Chelgren. Weekly rehearsals are at Good Samaritan Church in Edina on Tuesday nights, June 3 – July 22. Highlights this year include sectionals with professional musicians and a free community concert at Como Park, which will be shared with the Stuttgart Youth Symphony from Germany. No audition necessary. Financial aid is available. Register by April 30 and receive a $20 discounts! Download a registration form!
