The GTCYS Experience

With outstanding year-round opportunities, GTCYS brings the benefits of music study and performance to more young people, empowering them to achieve academically, socially, and personally. Students hone their musical talents and develop lifelong values such as teamwork, discipline, and community engagement in an atmosphere of musical excellence. GTCYS’ programming is comprehensive, inclusive and rigorous, helping young people of all ages achieve their full potential through music education.

Six academic-year orchestras, two summer orchestras and string orchestra camp, a chamber music program with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, mentoring and outreach at local schools, and public performances educate our students while vitalizing the Twin Cities community. GTCYS provides over $17,000 in full and partial scholarships so that any student can participate regardless of ability to pay.
