About the Instructor: My name is Mark Yannie and I am accepting new students.
For over more than 20 years I have had many successful students, who have enjoyed playing and studying with me. Teaching is a life-giver for me–I enjoy introducing students to the joys of different musical ideas, concepts, and ways that they can advance on their instrument. Things that I have enjoyed learning and playing over the years, I can pass on to students to explore and enjoy. I hold Master’s Degree in Music, and have taught as an adjunct on the college level (North Central, Crown, and CSB/SJU), high school (Hopkins), and privately. On the college level, I have taught clarinet, saxophone, and flute privately, a Woodwind Methods class for five years, developed and procured music for woodwind trios, quartets, and jazz ensembles.
I have played professionally in these settings; jazz, symphonic, pit orchestra, and general business entertainment freelance as a woodwinds specialist and have played for many national acts, toured, and freelanced as a performer for years in the Orlando/Tampa, Florida area, and Cleveland, Ohio.
I am a regular performer on Clarinet, Saxophone, and Flute in the Twin Cities. My home studio is located in St. Louis Park. I also presently teach privately in Chaska.
