About the Instructor: Sarah Erickson Lume is a member of the woodwind faculty at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she actively oversees the musical training of oboe students and chamber ensembles. She also leads the upper grades Recorder Ensemble program at the Minnesota Waldorf School. Sarah performs as freelance oboist in the Twin Cities and teaches private lessons to local middle and high school students. She holds a Master’s degree in Oboe Performance from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with Cindy Koledo DeAlmeida, Principal of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. As the parent of a current cellist in GTCYS, Sarah is eager to work with more students in the program!

About the Instructor: Crystal Hall spent most of her professional career in Chicago playing with various symphonies in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, as well as acting as Director of Education and oboist with Chicago-based chamber music group Fifth House Ensemble. Since returning to the Twin Cities, Ms. Hall has substituted with the Minnesota Orchestra, played in touring broadway shows, and appeared with several area music groups. She enjoys teaching players of all levels and also loves working on reed making with students, having run an oboe camp in the Chicago suburbs for six years. About the Instructor: Merilee Klemp is a Professor of Music at Augsburg University and Carleton College, where she teaches oboe & English Horn, coaches several woodwind ensembles as well as teaching several music history courses. Merilee performs as freelance oboist in the Twin Cities in the Minnesota Sinfonia and teaches private lessons to local middle and high school students. She holds a DMA in Oboe Performance & Literature from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Richard Killmer and a Masters of Arts in Musicology from the U of MN where she studied with Susan McClary. I love “launching” and working with young oboists and am accepting new students for the 2019-2020 school year.

I have a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota. I have been an avid freelance performer in the area for many years. About the Instructor: My name is Bryanne and I’ve been teaching private oboe lessons for 10 years in the Twin Cities area. I want my students to succeed and enjoy what they learn in lessons. Each lesson is customized to the student’s needs while challenging their abilities and goals.
I have a BM and MM in oboe performance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. My students have participated in the All-State Orchestra, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band. They have also participated in multiple summer camps throughout the Midwest.

About the Instructor: I have 40 plus years experience teaching private oboe and piano lessons from my Eden Prairie home studio.  I work to build relationships with my students so they trust me and are able to learn from me. I teach students effective ways to practice.  We work together on the basics to build a strong foundation.  I teach children and adults.  We work on a variety of repertoire through technical books and solo work.  A favorite part of our lesson time is duet playing where we learn to listen to each other and play together.
