About the Instructor: I will be accepting new students throughout the 2018-19 school year. I have taught private trumpet lessons in the western suburbs for over 15 years, including several years at Wayzata High School. I perform regularly with the Plymouth Concert Band, Mankato Symphony Orchestra and the St. Barnabas Brass. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa School of Music. I teach lessons at St. Barnabas Center for the Arts in Plymouth and at Schmitt Music in Minnetonka.

About the Instructor: I have been helping trumpet students in the Twin Cities reach their musical goals for over 20 years. My teaching methodology focuses on establishing strong fundamentals and on giving students an understanding of how to practice in order to develop their musicianship. I teach at Saint Joseph’s School of Music in Saint Paul and also have some availability at my home in Saint Louis Park.

I have an undergraduate degree in trumpet performance with an emphasis in jazz studies from Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin, and a masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of Minnesota. Adam Meckler is a trumpet player, composer and educator living in Minneapolis, MN. His 18 piece big band The Adam Meckler Orchestra has become one of the most exciting bands on the scene. The AMO’s debut album ‘When the Clouds Look Like This’ was released in September of 2014. By December it was listed among 2014’s Best Jazz Releases on iTunes. Adam holds Faculty positions in trumpet and Jazz at McNally Smith College of Music, and MacPhail Center for Music. He has toured with Youngblood Brass Band among others, and plays regularly with a host of bands around the Twin Cities including Nooky Jones, The Jana Nyberg Group, The Graydon Peterson Quartet and The Pete Whitman X-Tet.
