New Sinfonia East

We are thrilled to announce that GTCYS will add a new school-year orchestra – Sinfonia East – in the fall. To meet the increasing demand by young musicians and to create greater access for east metro students, Sinfonia East will become GTCYS’ ninth orchestra, complementing our current Sinfonia which will become Sinfonia West. Both groups will serve strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussionists. The new orchestra will provide a more accessible geographic pathway for Philharmonia East and Harmony, while addressing the capacity challenges of our current Sinfonia given the enrollment spike. We are grateful that current Sinfonia conductor Kent Musser will lead Sinfonia West, while we conduct the search for a new East conductor.
